If you are a fan of the show, you will pretty mich enjoy this little novel, as it really gets the tone right and feels fitting for what Moody would actually write like and about。 Other than that, this book got nothing much to say。 It's a quick read however。 If you are a fan of the show, you will pretty mich enjoy this little novel, as it really gets the tone right and feels fitting for what Moody would actually write like and about。 Other than that, this book got nothing much to say。 It's a quick read however。 。。。more

Hank needs to get his head of of his ass and write the sequel。 😂

The Hank Moody character is legend。 He will always live on, but this might not。

Still watch this shit show! Classic

About what I expected Hank Moody’s book to be like。 I wish they’d write the one Mia steals from him as well; it would be nice to see the character development over years。

Although the story was amuzing, the writing of the dialogue, compared to the series, was moderate at best。 In this books defence, it's hard to live up to such a great series。 Although the story was amuzing, the writing of the dialogue, compared to the series, was moderate at best。 In this books defence, it's hard to live up to such a great series。 。。。more

This was absolutely awesome。 Alcoholic depressed writers are the best writers。

It feels just like reading Hank Moody。 Or at least how you always imagined it would be like。 A word here, "milady" "motherfucker", the construction of certain dialogue tags all have David Duchovny's voice。 I wonder if this also served as the characters back story, sort of like a character bible。 Hank did mention Henry Miller in an episode and it's got A LOT in common with Tropic of Cancer: aimlessly wondering characters, the carefree progression of plot。 It's not as revelatory but it was never m It feels just like reading Hank Moody。 Or at least how you always imagined it would be like。 A word here, "milady" "motherfucker", the construction of certain dialogue tags all have David Duchovny's voice。 I wonder if this also served as the characters back story, sort of like a character bible。 Hank did mention Henry Miller in an episode and it's got A LOT in common with Tropic of Cancer: aimlessly wondering characters, the carefree progression of plot。 It's not as revelatory but it was never meant to be that。 It's a fun novel, is all。 。。。more

David Duchovny tries his hand at writing and fails miserably。

Nothing noteworthy that could stand on the literary stage, this is a quick book that can be read for the giggles and the nostalgia of wild university years, if the reader had the money/nationality to have a wild university time。 I do not recommend that money be spent acquiring this book though。

I still love Hank❤️

As a fan of the Showtime Series Californication, I’m late to the party but watched the show by binging DVDs after it ended so whatevs。 Hank Moody (Jonathan Grotenstein) is a clever writer。 He is witty & funny & sarcastic。 Fun read but with a punch to the gut。 I enjoyed the book as much as the show。

Scott E

Very hard to fathom。 Written by a writer who is trying to pretend to be a (fictional) writer who was written by another writer。 All (disjointed) style and no substance。

2。5 stars。Same category as Junkie, Fight Club and Rend Mig i Traditionerne。The author clearly knows how to present a relatively fast-paced story with great metaphors。 But the story just never grabbed me - anywhere, to be frank。 I am great fan of the TV-series Californication, and the sex, drugs and rock'n'roll attitude。 That's why I did spend a few hours in company with this book。 I'd recommend that you to pick up Fight Club instead - especially if you have already seen the movie。 It is a much b 2。5 stars。Same category as Junkie, Fight Club and Rend Mig i Traditionerne。The author clearly knows how to present a relatively fast-paced story with great metaphors。 But the story just never grabbed me - anywhere, to be frank。 I am great fan of the TV-series Californication, and the sex, drugs and rock'n'roll attitude。 That's why I did spend a few hours in company with this book。 I'd recommend that you to pick up Fight Club instead - especially if you have already seen the movie。 It is a much better book, as this is not bad, but far from as good as other similar books。 。。。more

Not a bad book by any means。 But, I think not as risqué and daring as the show might have you think。 The way Hank makes it sound is way more villainous than it is。It’s a decent read, regardless of whether you’re a fan of the show or not。

My girlfriend bought me this book because she thought the title was funny but didn't expect me to read it。 Well the joke is on her! The most exciting thing about the book is that it has been 'written' by a fictional character - Hank Moody。It's ecranisation into the major movie A Crazy Little Thing Called Love doesn't make much sense to me or perhaps I expected something completely different。It just feels that the book is underdeveloped and just at the end I finally got something more out of it - some meaning at least。A very easy read though。 The most exciting thing about the book is that it has been 'written' by a fictional character - Hank Moody。It's ecranisation into the major movie A Crazy Little Thing Called Love doesn't make much sense to me or perhaps I expected something completely different。It just feels that the book is underdeveloped and just at the end I finally got something more out of it - some meaning at least。A very easy read though。 。。。more
